We care for ill, starved and injured donkeys, those with physical deformities, those who need regular medication and/or veterinary attention and very old donkeys, some of whom are deaf, have impaired sight or may have other disorders.

The Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary Inc is dedicated to helping needy donkeys enjoy a healthy, happy life. We provide a donkey friendly environment for them at all times, especially whilst they recover from ill treatment, starvation, neglect or abuse.

Even in a civilised country like Australia there is a great need for an organisation like GSDS Inc. Over the decades we have rescued donkeys from appalling conditions where they have suffered abusive and inhumane treatment.

We have saved many hundreds of donkeys through direct 'hands-on' contact and many thousands of donkeys via phone, articles, seminars, field days, correspondence and books.

We do not receive any Government help, relying solely on donations from the animal-loving public and we are indeed grateful for any support we receive.

Without the help of caring people GSDS Inc would not be able to function and many of these donkeys would still be suffering in silence. It is vital that we continue with this most necessary work. Without your help, what would become of these gentle little donkeys?

We feel privileged to do the work and provide the facilities and expertise but we cannot do it alone; we can only make this possible with your financial help.

We are totally professional in our approach towards the care of donkeys. GSDS Inc only uses professional, qualified and/or certified equine and veterinary practitioners, dentists, farriers and chiropractor.
